The Best Design Builder To Sell 5-Figures Websites

Alright, now that we have created a funnel strategy that allows us to sell custom websites at a higher price, and reinforced our outreach, it’s time to circle back to the important part that many people struggle with…

Stop using templated platforms and start using powerful tools that will allow you to build “award-winning” websites.

I actually remember this being one of my biggest challenges when I first started, and I was using Wordpress… And I really didn’t have a good experience with it.

Like many others go through, it was taking me days to figure out which theme goes with which page building, which page builder is the best for which industry and so on…

I was literally wasting at least 2 days on it because I wanted to make sure I picked the good one and don’t waste money.

But one day, everything changed when I delivered a website to a client...

It turned out he did not like what I created, whereas I thought I had done everything he asked me to do. I already talked about this story in my Story From Selling Bad Websites To Amazing Custom Websites (Worth More And Faster) post so I won't go over it again...

Maybe I did not communicate with him well, but what I felt was that I had (again) no design freedom, and that could NOT go on.

So after that, I started asking questions around me, and a friend of mine introduced me to a platform that (at the time, I would not even imagine) changed my career.

I right away invested in a 3 days live webinar a guy was doing where he was showing the basics of that tool and how to create a simple page with it.

HE GOT ME !!

It did not take me more than a day to see that this platform will be the future of web design and that it was the one I wanted to use to become an expert in what I undoubtedly love doing.

Table Of Contents:

  1. Website Builder Features (Plugins, Speed, Updates)
  2. The Best Website Builder Software For Your Clients
  3. Build “Stunning” Websites “Fast” and “Easy

1. Website Builder Features (Plugins, Speed, Updates)

That day I discovered Webflow, I started spending days researching on it and building pages after pages.

At the time, this design software was not offering as many functionalities that Wordpress has thanks to its +50,000 plugins and still does not today but…

After just a few weeks, the Webflow team was already adding more features and have not stopped for the past 7 years.

Webflow Latest Updates

And guess what?

All these new features their team is consistently adding go directly on the Webflow platform without slowing down your site.

There is no need to search for minutes what you are looking for; everything is well organized and easy to find. On top of that, Webflow has a Content Management System and Ecommerce right there for you directly inside the platform.

Now, if you look at the content management system Wordpress, for instance, no matter which theme or template you'll use, Wordpress never felt like really fast. This is especially so because of all the things you need to update all the time, whereas it is plugins or themes or the platform itself.

Because of all the plugins and java scripts codes you have on Wordpress, your website takes longer to load, and data show that 53% of mobile website visitors will leave if a webpage doesn't load within 3 seconds. So yes, the loading time of a website is crucial.

If you are up for a challenge and want to see the truth from yourself? You can build a website on WP, make the same one on the Webflow platform, then go into the GoogleSpeed Insights and compare both scores.

2. The Best Website Builder Software For Your Clients

As you probably know already or not, the CMS is a software inside the platform your clients can have access to if they want to edit texts, images, videos, links, etc...

With the Wordpress content management system, if you used it in the past, you can definitely tell that as your clients edit their site, they don’t get the same design as they get on the live website.

They edit the text and images, but the layout is not the same as when you look at the website live. You have to make modifications, then save your work and refresh the URL so you can see your changes.

On the other hand, with the Webflow CMS, you can make modifications and see right away what it will look like on the website because what you see is basically the live website already.

It just makes it so much easier for your client to decide what they want to add or remove, and again, it saves them time.

Webflow CMS

The last point I want to touch on about these two website builders is when it comes to website maintenance

If only you could build a Wordpress website, for instance, and just leave for vacation or focus on another project, that would be ideal, but NO!

Unfortunately, it does not work like this...

A Wordpress site needs to be nurtured. One outdated plugin or an old theme and the whole website is toast.

Sometimes you even need to contact the hosting platform, which makes it so complicated and confusing even if the customer service is excellent.

On the other hand, Webflow's plugins are part of the platform and their team is automatically updating them for you which gives it a huge advantage when comparing the best website design software.

On top of that, the hosting on Webflow is provided and fast. Its hosting sites are backed up on Amazon web servers, so there are really tiny chances that the server goes down, I mean, Amazon is among the top 30 biggest companies in the world, so I feel pretty confident about that.

When it comes to speed, if a website is slow to load, as we previously said, visitors bounce. That's why Webflow offers the fastest hosting on the internet via Amazon Cloudfront, and Fastly. It is that fast because they can get points of presence all over the world, so when someone from another country, for instance, loads a page, all the codes and data are processed to the nearest server.

3. Build “Stunning” Websites “Fast” and “Easy

Alright, now let’s talk about the part where you get to the real work and start building your website.

If you are still here right now, passionate, or considering web design, it probably means…

You have been targeted (at least once) by Wix and its famous “Are you ready to create stunning websites” video ads on Youtube.

Or that you’ve been targeted by Elementor on Instagram that says, “Don’t build your Wordpress websites from scratch. We made dozens of fully functioning pages, so that you don’t have to”.

And all it is true! You can definitely build stunning websites with Wix, and have functional templates with Elementor, just like you can build outstanding websites by coding everything.

But is it worth it? Can you scale? Do you have all the freedom you want?

And that is what I’m going to talk about right now.

What you first need to know is that with a powerful tool like Webflow comes… a bit of a learning curve.

Graph Wordpress Vs Webflow Learning Curve

Webflow isn’t a silly drag-and-drop tool like Elementor, for instance. It’s a powerful visual development platform that requires you to think a little differently to bring your designs to life.

Webflow requires a little more organization than any other platform, but once you get it, you'll be amazed by the number of things you can do with it because that number is unlimited.

There are absolutely no restrictions in terms of design.

On top of that, since the platform is so well designed and user-friendly, you will save hours of work.

If you can understand the logic of this web design software, and build it the right way, so it can be responsive, Webflow can know how to change when it goes from Desktop to iPhone to Samsung, from portrait to landscape etc… which makes that tool so unique.

You can literally deliver fully custom websites in a few hours or days, even if you are just getting started with Web Design.

And that makes it so worth it!

Now, if you want to scale your business, you have more chances with a tool like Webflow than a tool like Elementor, Divi, Wix, Squarespace, or GoDaddys because…

You can really customize and respond to your client’s needs, which means you can charge more for it.

I used to charge around $2,000 for a website in my early career using Wordpress, but then after just a few months using Webflow, I was able to charge 4x more almost every time because I had more leverage and arguments to back up my high price.

To recap:

  1. Webflow does not offer as many functionalities Wordpress does yet but has all the essential features and gives you the design freedom to fully custom websites.

  1. Whenever it comes to delivering a website to a client, the Webflow CMS is so much more user-friendly, visual, and handy compared to any other website design software.

  1. With everything directly integrated, a Webflow website does not require any maintenance, and on top of that, it offers the fastest hosting on the internet via Amazon Cloudfront and Fastly.

  1. Last but not least, with Webflow, you are able to charge much more for a website, which will ultimately allow you to scale your business.

Now, if you are wondering what the next step could look like for you, let me tell you how I see it…

If you are ready to go to the next level, start building websites on Webflow, make more money by selling custom websites you can be proud of, and that your clients will love…

Then your first option is to go at it alone, and this is basically what I did a few years ago after that 3 days live webinar, and it took me more than a year working every day to get to the mastery level I am today.

And you can definitely do this, there are many free videos that the Webflow University share online consistently.

You can learn from that, and I encourage you to go ahead and do this because that might give you a structure, understand what the elements are for etc...

But then there is another option which is to shortcut your success…

Like I mentioned previously, I’ve used many platforms before, then I used Webflow and struggled a little bit to figure it out on my own because there were no intense online classes for it at the time…

So that’s why I’ve created a class that I’ve been working on for more than a year to help you shortcut that learning curve, learn from me, from my process, and from the websites I have designed.

My goal with this affordable online course is to get you mastering that platform and really accelerate that learning process as fast as possible.

And this is what I want to share with you. I named it the “Webflow Secrets Course”, and it is probably one of the faster ways out there to learn how to build websites for clients on Webflow. On top of that, I included everything I use for automating my business, the exact messages I use for outreaching, how I go through sales calls, how to deliver websites.

I want to give you in there all the tools you need, so your transition from templated platforms to Webflow is as smooth as possible, and you can start selling websites on it after just a few weeks.

I hope this blog post series was useful and that you learned a lot through it. I wrote this guide so I can give you an alternative for your business and an option to make more money online. So, If you are just thinking about considering switching over Webflow, then I did my job.
